Increasing Your Site’s PageRank

Posted by Tay on July 28, 2007

If you have a website or a blog, then PageRank should be important to you. PageRank is the rank of a page measured from zero to ten, ten being the highest score. PageRank is based solely on links. The higher the PageRank you have, the more important your site is, and the more money you can make with it. PageRank should not be something to obsess over but it should be in your list of priorities if you own a site.

PageRank is determined using mainly three ways:

  • The number of sites linking to the page in question
  • The PageRank of those sites
  • The number of outgoing links you have

So if you want to improve your site’s PageRank, you want more people linking to your site, you want their sites to have as high of PageRank as possible (but even links from small sites help), and you definitely want to decrease the number of other pages you link to, since you’re spreading your PageRank juice.

If you want to learn more about what PageRank is, how to improve your ranking, and how to make money from having PageRank, then I suggest you see this article about getting ready for the upcoming PageRank update. It is a must-read.

Easy Facials for Oily Skin

Posted by Tay on July 23, 2007

I have very oily skin that, even when I wash it two or three times a day, it still looks and gets oily. I also have breakouts. Facials can be a huge help, but I’m just not a fan of the facials that require many multiple products and that you have to mix and take a lot of bother to make. Instead, I do the quick facials that in my opinion can work just as well.

The following facial recipes I am about to show you are for oily skin. They are extremely easy and quick to make, can be made right at home with products you already have, and are inexpensive.

The oatmeal facial. This is made simply with uncooked oatmeal and water. Pour your oatmeal in a little bowl and add water until it turns to a paste. Be careful not to add too much water. Apply to a clean face. This is a little hard to get it to stay on, but it’s the one I’ve tried that has made my skin feel the best. Leave the mixture on your face to dry for approximately ten minutes. Rinse most of it, then use a wet washcloth to get the rest. This exfoliates and moisturizes, and is perfect for oily skin.

The egg yolk facial. This one is even easier, all you need is an egg. Separate the egg yolk from the white. Then rub the yolk evenly into your clean face. Let it dry for about thirty minutes before you rinse it off and rub off the remainder with a wet washcloth. Egg yolks are high in Vitamin A and effective in healing blemishes.

Before each facial you should have a clean face, and you should splash your face with hot water to open up your pores. When you are rinsing your face of the facial, you should use cold water to close your pores. After the facial is over your skin should feel refreshed, smooth, and overall much more soft.

To take each of the above facials to another level (this is tested, it’s safe, and it works just as great if not even better) add some honey. Or you can create a facial that contains oat meal, egg yolk, and honey. A mixture of all three works great! It might sound gross, but your face will love it.

Facials should not be done more than two times a week; too much of a good thing is bad. I hope this article was helpful to you, and if it was, keep your eyes peeled for future articles about facials for oily skin all different kinds of skin types.
